Malinska is a settlement in the northwest part of the island of Krk. The city of Krk is about 12 km away, while Rijeka Airport is about 15 km away.

Settlement was built in the 15th century. In the 18th century, Malinska becomes a significant harbor for the island from which it exports wood, olive oil and agricultural products.

1880 was very important year for Malinska’s development because in that year people turned to tourism. They were first focused exclusively on hunting tourism, and later developed health and bathing tourism. Today, it is one of the most important tourist settlements on the island of Krk.

The peak of development was experienced in the 1970s. In this period, the hotel resort Haludovo was opened, which was the most beautiful hotel resort in the eastern part of the Adriatic.

The area where Malinska is located is called Dubašnica, which consists of 19 smaller settlements and a total of 2500 inhabitants in this area.

As the village has been built in recent times, there are not many cultural and historical sights, but still could be highlighted St. Mary Magdalene Church in Port and Church of St. Apolinary.

The climate is submediterranean with mild, rainy and windy winters and hot and dry summers. The daily temperature is about 30°C.

In the history of the strongest economic branch was agriculture, and today it is definitely tourism. There is a large number of hotels and private accommodation units in and the largest number of apartments on the Island of Krk was built in Malinska.

Some of most famous beaches in and around that area are: Haludovo beach, Rupa beach, Draga beach, Vrtača beach and Rova beach.
